The City of South Padre Island, Clayton’s, and founders Walter McDonald and Lucinda Wierenga welcome you to the 38th annual Sandcastle Days.
Master sculptors Walter McDonald (Amazin Walter) and Lucinda Wierenga (Sandy Feet), South Padre Island residents, started Sandcastle Days 38 years ago to showcase the island’s special sand and to promote protecting our coast. What began as a local celebration grew into a World Championship qualifying event that draws 30,000+ fans.
This free, family-friendly festival features sand sculptures, live music, local art, food vendors, and beach activities for all ages. New location and evening events this year. Bring family, friends, and sunscreen. Check the event schedule for details.
